compost cooks!

A unique urban farm and STEAM camp for ages 6 - 12.

Welcome to Camp TLW!

2020 Camp Dates Coming Soon!

Camp TLW offers an authentic urban farm experience for youth ages 6-12. Parents and children can expect farm chores and creative activities, which introduce the world of growing, harvesting and enjoying fresh food from the garden. Our scheduled activities are designed to help your child develop a greater appreciation and respect for nature and our camp curriculum reinforces STEAM based principles learned in the classroom. Our affordable outdoor day camp emphasizes compassionate relations and community building.

We will be "cultivating little farmers for the future of our world!" Activities include:

  • Farm and nature related lessons including planting, foraging, and herb identification.

  • Garden design and child friendly construction projects.

  • STEAM influenced garden education.

  • Science experiments and live chats with a real scientist.

  • Special Farm-to-Table lunch preparation with our camp chef.

  • Nutrition classes and recipe creation.

  • Fun and content related field trips!

Camp Testimonials

Digging to make a terrace garden, sowing seeds and picking your own veggies for your meals - what’s not to love about Camp TLW?!  Our son would come home tired, with dirt under his nails and a smile on his face everyday. Our hearts were full everyday he was in your care! Thank you!

I signed up for Camp TLW because I wanted my two boys to be outside and develop a relationship with plants and the earth. The stories and excitement they came home with greatly exceeded my expectations. They loved sharing how they helped prepare lunch. Perhaps my favorite was when they would come home exclaiming, "We love kale!" I am truly grateful for Camp TLW and you can expect to see us again next year!

Days were long and hot but EVERY single day our niece had tons of fun stories to share and not one complaint about the heat. She met new friends, learned all about the importance of fruits/vegetable and hydration! Her most enthusiastic stories often centered around the camp director and chef! Both were obviously fueled by their passion of providing healthy learning environments for the children, which is exactly what we were looking for in a summer camp. She will most definitely be back.

My daughter had a wonderful experience at TLW last summer. She enjoyed making new friends and spending so much time outdoors. She was very excited about learning about plants, produce and cooking. I was comforted by how attentive and kind all of the educators were.  I strongly recommend this wonderful program!
